birthday cards - side folding - for both, my aunt and my mother-in-law. i used textured cardstock and wallpaper from an old sample book. i stitched a vellum folio inside for the message and sandwiched the ends of the silver thread between punched out wallpaper leaves.
two birthday cards - side folding. one for a friend of T's from kindergarten and one for a friend of mine who's actually not a little girl, but i thought that sometimes even the big girls need little girls' birthday cards... i cut the cute lion images from gift wrapping paper.
i made several of these gingerbread man cards. i traced a cookie cutter for the shape and decorated it with rick rack, flat back pearls and pearl pen. each one looked a little different.
three quite funky christmas cards - top folding. i started off with the red gift wrapping paper and a jumbo punch. then i backed the shapes with cellophane with silver letter print. i used different greenish patterned cardstock for the cardbases and on a whim decided to turn them into shaker cards because i remembered that i had these pearly sequin stars. i decided to stick the panels at an angle because i didn't trust my eye-balling abilities to get them straight and centered when i made these. i selected some pale green, light pink and pearly white thread for the bow because i couldn't find anything in gold or silver or anything else that matched. i didn't really have a clear vision of what i wanted when i started making these, i just went along with my ideas and used what i found (in the mess i still have in my office/craft room). i'm pleased with the result although these cards do look ... less traditional ... than i probably had in mind at first...
i want to add some christmas cards i made back in 2013. they were all made using Dylusions ink sprays and stamps with some hand drawn additions:
happy new year everyone!
